Second Viking Assault - [video]
[It's hard to tell exactly where Astrid is when she turns her gear on, but there are trees around, and her Axew is visible resting against one behind her, keeping watch over two pokemon eggs. (She hasn't really gotten the hang of keeping them in pokeballs yet, it seems...mean.) Her attention isn't on them though, she's looking at the screen almost thoughtfully.]
I've been trying to get the hang of all the...little things here, so I decided to try and catch one of the wild pokemon running around on the paths. Which worked, except...
[She turns her camera around to reveal a Sentret happily sitting on the ground in front of her, bouncing up and down on her tail as she watches Astrid.]
I just picked it because it was the first one I found. And now I've caught it and I'm...not really sure what to do with it.
I mean...[She turns the camera back to her.] There are dragons here. And fire breathing dogs, and electric vermin, and so many other powerful looking creatures...
[She turns the camera back to the Sentret, who seems quite happy to be the center of attention.]
Then there's her. ...She looks like something babies sleep with. Or something bigger, stronger animals like to eat.
Do people really train these?

[action!]
Hey. [Astrid gives a wave without standing, offering her a friendly enough smile. She still wasn't used to 'meeting' people through the phones, so in her mind this was a first meeting, even if she already knew her name.] You made it.
[action!]
Yeah...sorry for not getting here sooner, by the way, the road was a bit longer than I thought. I didn't keep you waiting, did I?
[action!]
No, it's fine. I was waiting here for the night anyway. Everything go alright?
[action!]
Yeah, it went okay... well, as okay as you'd expect. I'll need to run into town for some more supplies, though, but that can wait a little bit.
[fiddles with her bag, and pulls out a pokeball.]
I found this little guy on the road. He doesn't look like much, but...
[presses the button, and the ball opens up with a burst of light. Once it fades, there's a plump, confused looking Pidgey on the ground. It blinks, and glances between the two girls before it stands up.]
[action!]
Oh, I fought a few of those on my way here. They're pretty good! [A grin.] And kind of weird looking.
[She shakes her head after a second.]
I feel bad leaving them in those balls though...they look so small.
[action!]
Yeah, I felt the same way. They don't seem to really mind it, though. I mean, there's all sorts of mad science stuff going on around here, right? So they're probably not as bad as they look.
[and while they talk, the pidgey adjusts its wings and trots over towards Utena. Catching the hint, she kneels down and scoops it up in her arms]
But still, it's good to let them get some fresh air. Even if it's comfortable, no one likes to be cooped up all day.
Re: [action!]
Everyone says that. That they don't mind, that it's fine in there, I just...[She looks over at her pokemon and eggs and shrugs.]
It's just kind of hard to believe.
[action!]
Yeah, it's kind of hard to say, without seeing what it's actually like. I guess you just have to go with what you think would make your Pokemon the happiest.
[Adjusts her arms to support Pidgey better, follows Astrid's gaze over to her eggs - and the Sentret]
Speaking of... [smiles, and keeps her eye on the new pokemon] How's that little guy doing?
[action!]
Her?
[Astrid reaches out to give the sentret a little poke and she chitters, running up Astrid's arm to perch ontop of her head. Astrid just laughs.]
She wants everyone around her to constantly be paying attention to her.
[action!]
[Meanwhile, the Pidgey gives the Sentret a withering look, before it ruffles its feathers and nestles closer against Utena. The trainer, meanwhile, just laughs along with Astrid]
I can see that. In fact, it kind of reminds me of someone else I know...
[She begins to look around for Ponyta, only to find that he's moved on. Huh...]
Hey, did you see where the other Pokemon ran off to?
[action!]
Uh. I think mine was chasing your horse. [Astrid frowns, reaching up to pull Fuzzball down from her head to set her down on her pokemon egg to keep an eye on it, then she stands.]
They can't have gone far.
[action!]
[Pidgey still in her arms, she begins to look around the camp. Meanwhile, Ponyta nuzzles his nose against Tuskgrinder, before he starts back towards the others - slow enough for the Axew to keep up with him, this time]
[action!]
...I guess they were making friends?
[action!]
[Ponyta trots towards Utena with a quick glance towards Tuskgrinder. See? This is his human! He seems awfully proud. Ponyta nuzzles against her hand, and she pets his nose as she smiles down at them]
It's better than making enemies, though, right?
[Action!] Wow that wasn't the right name at all.
[She'd done that with ruffnut and toughnut constantly fighting. The little Axew waves at Utena when the horse introduces her, then bounces over to Astrid and plops down by her feet.]
