punchandkiss: (...what...)

Second Viking Assault - [video]

[It's hard to tell exactly where Astrid is when she turns her gear on, but there are trees around, and her Axew is visible resting against one behind her, keeping watch over two pokemon eggs. (She hasn't really gotten the hang of keeping them in pokeballs yet, it seems...mean.) Her attention isn't on them though, she's looking at the screen almost thoughtfully.]

I've been trying to get the hang of all the...little things here, so I decided to try and catch one of the wild pokemon running around on the paths. Which worked, except...

[She turns her camera around to reveal a Sentret happily sitting on the ground in front of her, bouncing up and down on her tail as she watches Astrid.]

I just picked it because it was the first one I found. And now I've caught it and I'm...not really sure what to do with it.

I mean...[She turns the camera back to her.] There are dragons here. And fire breathing dogs, and electric vermin, and so many other powerful looking creatures...

[She turns the camera back to the Sentret, who seems quite happy to be the center of attention.]

Then there's her. ...She looks like something babies sleep with. Or something bigger, stronger animals like to eat.

Do people really train these?

[A race, is it? At least, that's what the Ponyta assumes. He gives chase and it's not long before he outpaces it. Ponyta doesn't go full speed, though - he wants to see if the little dragon can keep up, first]

Yeah, I felt the same way. They don't seem to really mind it, though. I mean, there's all sorts of mad science stuff going on around here, right? So they're probably not as bad as they look.

[and while they talk, the pidgey adjusts its wings and trots over towards Utena. Catching the hint, she kneels down and scoops it up in her arms]

But still, it's good to let them get some fresh air. Even if it's comfortable, no one likes to be cooped up all day.

[Aaand, while Axew runs as fast as he can, Ponyta skids to a halt. What a jerk!]

Yeah, it's kind of hard to say, without seeing what it's actually like. I guess you just have to go with what you think would make your Pokemon the happiest.

[Adjusts her arms to support Pidgey better, follows Astrid's gaze over to her eggs - and the Sentret]

Speaking of... [smiles, and keeps her eye on the new pokemon] How's that little guy doing?

[...okay, it seemed funny at the time, but now Ponyta feels a little guilty. He lowers his head as he walks slowly towards Tuskgrinder, in sort of a nonverbal apology. Friends, y/n?]

[Meanwhile, the Pidgey gives the Sentret a withering look, before it ruffles its feathers and nestles closer against Utena. The trainer, meanwhile, just laughs along with Astrid]

I can see that. In fact, it kind of reminds me of someone else I know...

[She begins to look around for Ponyta, only to find that he's moved on. Huh...]

Hey, did you see where the other Pokemon ran off to?

[nods] Right.

[Pidgey still in her arms, she begins to look around the camp. Meanwhile, Ponyta nuzzles his nose against Tuskgrinder, before he starts back towards the others - slow enough for the Axew to keep up with him, this time]

I guess...

[Ponyta trots towards Utena with a quick glance towards Tuskgrinder. See? This is his human! He seems awfully proud. Ponyta nuzzles against her hand, and she pets his nose as she smiles down at them]

It's better than making enemies, though, right?
