Eleventh Viking Charge [ Video]

[When the camera clicks on, rather than show Astrid, it shows a wide, grassy field. About twenty feet away, sitting in the grass, is Hiccup, next to his Salamance, apparently talking to it and not doing anything else. After maybe thirty seconds of this, the gear turns around to reveal Astrid, looking rather annoyed. Her Sentret, Fuzzball, is perched on her shoulder.]

I need to know how to snap a stupid boy out of a funk.

All he does is sit around staring at his gear or talking to his dragon or talking about that Clair trainer! Or talking to his dragon about that Clair trainer. Or just sitting there thinking about that Clair trainer! That's it!

[No she's not jealous, shut up.]

He's not training enough or doing anything and keeping his attention for more than five minutes is impossible!

[She almost shouts that last bit, and then catches herself and sighs.]

I just need to snap him out of it, that's all.

I'm ... pretty sure she's just a Gym Leader. A couple friends of mine have already beat her, so...

Anyway, it's like their job to hang around in their gyms and let everybody challenge them, so... yeah

Well it would be pretty cool. And my main team is maxed out now...

If he's THAT obsessed with Clair, why wouldn't he watch his friend from home battle her?

I guess I can't argue with that.

Still, gotta keep in mind that Gobber made this thing. I only did some tune-ups, and even then, I didn't exactly have 'dancing' on my mind as a top priority.

[At her question, he sighs and flicks the 'gear shut. Instead of doing the proper thing and going over to her, however, he just raises his voice to make sure she can hear him.]

Yes. I'm asking you.

[It's entirely possible that the distance is to hide the faint blush. What is being forward about feelings.]

[She looks over when the video feed stops, shoving her own gear into her bag as he...shouts...over to her that he's asking her to prom.]

[From halfway across the field.]

[A few seconds of quietly glaring before she just stomps over to him, crossing her arms as she peers down at where he's sitting. Was he blushing?]

Fine then I guess I'll go with you.

[This still...seemed vaguely like arguing. Clearing his throat, Hiccup pushed himself up to stand as well glancing over to her as he brushed himself off.]

Glad that's all settled, then.

[Well it is still sort of arguing, but at least they're both bewildered by it now.]

Yeah. Sure.

[A beat.]

...I guess it could be fun anyway.

Right.

[He's trying really hard to sound more sure of himself, now.]

You'll have a great time, I bet. [Pause.] We both will.

[Since they'd. Be there together. Yeah.]

Sure. [She smiled faintly, and she was honestly feeling a bit better now. But then it falls.]

This means I need clothes, doesn't it.

[Exclude his mild splutter there.]

W-well, you...always need clothes...

[Thank you for pointing that out, Hiccup.]

But, u-uh, I heard people talking about...dresses.

[She sighs.]

That's what I meant, Hiccup.

I'm going to look so stupid in a dress...

Put it to the test.

Ditch him, go hang out with your other friends. See how he likes being ignored.

If they're something only from here, maybe you can show how skilled you are with them, to remind him that Clair has had her whole life of working with dragons, where you - I am assuming you have dragon types yourself - have only had so long and are just as good, if not a better trainer?
