[Astrid wasn't exactly used to the little device, but she had a basic idea of what it did (not how it worked, of course, but at least THAT it worked), so when it did yet another new thing she wasn't exactly prepared for it. It was resting on the grass next to her, and when she suddenly heard Hiccup's voice, she glances at it, saw the empty screen, and assumed it must have been something else.]
Hiccup?
[She pushes to her feet, frowning at the empty field and trees around her and taking a few steps away, ignoring her Axew as he nudges at her shin. She hadn't expected to hear any familiar voices, not from what the other teen she had spoken to had said.]
Where are you? Hiccup!
[After a moment of peering around, she finally picks up the little machine again, frowning at it. She's looking for traces of someone covering up the camera...she doesn't actually know it only does voices yet. That's a completely different trick. She gives it a shake, making the video bounce.]
...Is it this stupid thing?
[She isn't exactly thrilled with technology, it seems.]
[video] It's fine! Hi!
Hiccup?
